For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

London, the 2050s. Twenty years ago, a populist revolution brought down the capitalist establishment and changed the course of Britain’s history. The greedy 1% have had their power and wealth taken away and have been diagnosed with Obsessive Capital Accumulation Syndrome, or OCAS. But can this new society live up to its promise of utopia?

OCAS is a brand-new political satire showcasing exciting new talent in the world of audio drama. It’s written by Theo XCharles Kirby and Andrew Kevin Fawn, and stars Arun Blair-Mangat (& Juliet, Spellbound) as Leo, a documentary maker investigating the events of the 2033 revolution and the changes that followed.

The pilot episode of OCAS is available to purchase now, for just £3.99 (as a digital download to own) exclusively here

Greed is a sickness.

In the mid-21st century, the country has changed. Following a populist revolution, which brought down the entire system of government, society now aims to be more compassionate and equitable. Poverty is a distant memory, public services are properly funded, and separation between ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ is a thing of the past.

Those responsible for the corruption of the old world – people who abandoned moral principles in pursuit of wealth and power – have been diagnosed with a disorder: Obsessive Capital Accumulation Syndrome (OCAS). They have been removed from society to undergo treatment and rehabilitation, and without them, the nation has flourished.

Making a documentary to commemorate the anniversary of May ’33, Leo interviews those who were at the centre of events twenty years before. But as he scratches the surface of the new regime, he finds that the official history does not tell all. Britain may strive to be better for everyone – but utopia comes at a price.

Leo is assisted by his sound engineer friend Jamie (Alyth RossLast Light, Dirty Angels), and his grandmother Nana (Naana Agyei-AmpaduThe Wheel of Time). The cast also includes Daisy Ashford (Liz Shaw in Big Finish’s Doctor Who audios), David O'Mahony, Barry Aird, and Dianne Pilkington

Lead actor Arun Blair-Mangat said: “Three reasons why people should listen to OCAS: number one, it’s a proper, suspenseful, exciting story; number two, it’s extremely topical, scarily topical; and number three, I don’t think there’s anything else like it.”

“Leo, the character I play, is very curious for knowledge, he is not afraid to challenge the status quo and challenge the people he’s interviewing. And he surrounds himself with a very encouraging, intelligent partner in Jamie.”

His co-star Alyth Ross added: “OCAS is very current, the themes are really relevant at the minute, I think it’s going to resonate with a younger audience, which is really exciting, and it’s full of loads of different, very exciting characters, which I love.

“My first reaction on reading the script was just excitement, really. It wasn’t anything like I expected it to be. The writing is very intricate and it’s laced with quite a few different moments which have been really fun to record.”

OCAS: Pilot is available to purchase now, for just £3.99 (as a digital download to own).

All the above prices (including pre-order and multibuy bundle discounts) are fixed for a limited time only and guaranteed no later than 31 May 2025.
