Torchwood goes rom-com
Big Finish's unofficial “romance trilogy” comes to a close today with the release of Torchwood: Launch Date, a brand-new full-cast audio drama starring Gareth David Lloyd.
Ianto Jones wants nothing more than a happy ending for Geraint (Jonathan Hawkins) and Chrissie (Gemma Knight Jones) in the latest Torchwood Monthly Range audio adventure. But are his motives entirely pure?
Geraint fails to notice Chrissie flirting with him. Too late to go back. That’s the story of Geraint’s life. A lot of missed opportunities.
Geraint’s fed up of it all – his dead-end job and his dead-end life. So, he asks his best mate for help. Sort his life out. And Ianto Jones is only too happy to help.
Writer Aaron Lamont said: “One of the tricky things about this script was making Ianto come across as manipulative but not unlikeable. Obviously, he's doing it from a place of love but there's something a bit creepy about it.”
Actor Gareth David-Lloyd added: “Torchwood always saves the day but at some bloody human cost, so in this story Ianto is trying to make the best of a better situation where he's not hated by his new friends.”
Torchwood contains adult material and may not be suitable for younger listeners.
Torchwood: Launch Date is now available to own as a collector’s edition 1-disc CD (+ download for just £10.99) or as a digital download only (for just £8.99), exclusively here.
Big Finish listeners can save money by purchasing Launch Date as part of a six-release Torchwood bundle for just £60 (collector’s edition CD + download) or £50 (download only).
A 12-release Torchwood bundle is also available for just £110 (collector’s edition CD + download) or £96 (download only).
